Notes on Life is happy to be an online community, and we also want to create opportunities in real life! Here are the ways we’re looking to expand into the “real world”:
Classroom use: With music being one of the first things to go in an education budget, we want to prove how important music is to everyday life. By using music-based activities to help stimulate ideas for students, we hope to further that exploration while showcasing the impact music can have on a student’s well-being and productivity.
- Muse-ic Monday: Classroom Edition!: We suggest setting aside a bit of time (preferably in the morning, it’s when our brains are less settled in and open to more ideas) and playing a Muse-ic Monday video. Let the students draw, write, work on something – whatever it motivates, let them follow it! It can set the pace for the day and get their imaginations rolling.
On-Campus Installations: Students can get easily distracted, and music is one of the resources for staying on track or taking a quick break. Giving them an area that can act as both will help to loosen their brains for better ideas. Students can contribute to the interactive installation, giving them an opportunity to showcase their results and find new friends through these connections.
- Inspiration Island: An isolated section of the installation, playing one piece of music and showing the projects it inspired, whether it be a building design, a recipe, or whatever else. The projects will be pulled from social media and projected on screens in the room. Being able to sit and take a moment to be surrounded by different ideas can open us up to the different ways to communicate our visions.
